Great Explorers Say Goodbye

Mrs Johnson and Miss Coulton waved goodbye to their lovely 2016-17 Great Explorers with a thank you afternoon for parents and children.

Tea, juice and biscuits were served as everyone reminisced on a wonderful year at Ghyll Royd Pre-School.

They talked about their recent topic where they had learnt about the sea, the class visit to Hesketh Farm, and way way back to the start of the year when they visited Bradford Media Museum, among other special memories.

The children played in the classroom before heading upstairs for a very special surprise.

Miss Coulton put together a collage of photos in a PowerPoint which all the parents and children went upstairs to the IT Suite to watch.

Mrs Johnson and Miss Coulton both commented on how lovely it was to see the children’s faces when they saw photos of themselves appear on screen and how they linked it back to where they were, or what activity they were doing at the time.

Back downstairs, they had the children’s learning journeys laid out across the classroom tables for mums and dads to look through together to see what magical, amazing things the Great Explorers had done that year including artwork, pieces of work, music and quotes taken down overheard during the many different activities of the year.

Thank you to all our Great Explorers! We shall miss you and hope you settle well into your Reception classes! For those of you joining Ghyll Royd’s Reception class, we can’t wait to hear all about your summer when you return in September!
