Drop off and collection

The doors of the Pre-School & Nursery open to parents at 8.00am.  We appreciate that many families travel a considerable distance and by opening at this time we hope to enable parents to drop off their children before travelling to work. We have a large car park located directly next to the Pre-School and we have drop off bays for Nursery parents.

Weekly Routine

Monday pm: Physical Education with Mr Wilces.

During this session the children will learn about a range of physical activities and build their skills and confidence to participate in them. They also learn about the importance of health enhancing and inclusive physical activity for everybody.

Tuesday am: Treasure Bags.

Our Treasure Bag session is an opportunity for the children to bring an item from home that relates to our current topic, theme or phonic session. It is a wonderful chance for group discussion and interaction with the children getting to know each other and have lots of fun. The sessions build the children’s communication and language skills by talking to others, asking questions and listening attentively.

Wednesday am: Dance Class with Miss Amy from Northern Dance Centre (extra curricular).

The session develops a wide variety of skills such as: Basic movement skills Musical awareness, Expressions and Creativity. The themed classes encourage class participation, focus and confidence, while also making it fun to learn.

Wednesday pm: Welly Day.

Each week come rain or shine, we don our wellies and head out on a welly walk, learning through our wonderful outdoor environment! Our route may take us to Burley beach, the school meadow, activity trail or forest trail.

Tuesday and Thursday am: Music Class with Mrs Coultas.

As music is a great way for your child to discover the wonders of sound, we actively encourage learning through many forms of music. From listening, movement, performing and improvisation, to songs and music all of which form part of the music session.

Thanks to our full time catering staff we have been able to provide restaurant quality school meals, prepared and cooked daily from fresh ingredients . Menus for the week can be downloaded on the School Menu page.
