Getting to Ghyll Royd
We’re proud to be located in the beautiful village of Burley-in-Wharfedale, just outside Ilkley. Thanks to our convenient setting and well-planned travel options, getting to and from Ghyll Royd is simple, whether you’re travelling by foot, train, car or bus.
Our on-site car park is available to commuting parents throughout the school day, providing a safe, stress-free place to park, drop off or collect your child.
Your Travel Options
Walk
We’re just a short walk from the centre of Burley-in-Wharfedale, accessible via the nearby underpass. Many families enjoy walking to school and are welcome to leave buggies, bikes, or scooters in our Hall during the day.
Train
Burley-in-Wharfedale Train Station is less than a 5-minute drive or a 15-minute walk from school, offering excellent links for families commuting from Leeds, Bradford, Ilkley, and beyond.
Bus
A public bus stop is conveniently located right outside our school gates, with regular services every 30 minutes on the Leeds–Skipton route.
Car
We’re fortunate to have a large, private forecourt and on-site car park, safely set back from the main road. Our extra-wide driveway allows smooth entrance and exit for parents at busy times.

Accessibility
We are committed to ensuring Ghyll Royd is welcoming and accessible for everyone. Access to the ground floor of the Manor House, Sports Hall, and school gardens is flat and free of steps.
