Bolton Abbey Trip

Form 6 enjoyed a fabulous trip out to Bolton Abbey on Wednesday 13th July. As part of their post-SATs Enrichment Week, the class enjoyed a trip to the Abbey where they explored the beautiful grounds before diving right in with their first activity – literally!

Ghyll Royd pupils brought their swimsuits to have a paddle in the water. The class hopped across the 60 Medieval stepping stones and jumped into the river to cool off on another glorious summers day. Pupils laughed and smiled non-stop and enjoyed chilling out on the beach with their friends, eating their packed lunches. Bolton Abbey Estate is a beautiful local site – fun for all ages. Our children will remember this day for a long time!

The class have done tremendously well this year: sitting entrance exams and receiving places at their secondary schools of choice; putting on a spectacular performance of The Tempest back in March and finishing last half term with a their SATs exams. Well done!
