30 Hours: the Countdown

Student Painting

From September, Ghyll Royd Pre-School & Nursery will offer 30 hours free childcare for working parents of 3 and 4 year olds. You can find out if you are eligible here.

The deadline to register for 30 hours free childcare is Thursday 31st August 2017 if you want to receive the funding for the Autumn term. Find out your next steps below.

The basics:

  • 30 hours of free childcare is available to working parents of 3 and 4 year olds
  • Both parents must be working, or the sole parent must be working in a single parent household
  • Parents must earn a minimum of 16 hours at the national living wage
  • Parents must not earn over £100,000 a year

30 hours at Ghyll Royd:

Ghyll Royd are delighted to be able to bring you an additional 15 hours on top of the universal 15 hours entitlement for 3 and 4 year olds. With a full 30 hours you can ensure your child is learning, growing and developing in a nurturing and stimulating environment, surrounded by friendly peers and caring, qualified staff.

We understand how difficult deciding to return to work can be, so we want to make the 30 hours work for you. That’s why we’re including wraparound care as an option for parents who choose to work longer but fewer days. Your child can attend Before and After School club and attend nursery between 8am and 6pm, which will be inclusive of the 30 hour offering.

Next steps:

The government portal is now open. If you think you are eligible, please log on now and register for your unique reference number which will need to be passed onto school as soon as possible in order for us to claim the extra funding.
