Staff and parents were bowled over by Form 5’s tremendous display at an U11’s Cricket Final on Tuesday evening.
Ghyll Royd’s U10s represented the school in the final of the School Sports Partnership against Burley & Woodhead at Ilkley Grammar School.
Both teams displayed excellent sportsmanship and some great cricketing with it all boiling down to the last few runs. Burley & Woodhead’s bowler threw a fantastic final ball which narrowly missed the stumps.
The final score was Ghyll Royd 239 – 236 Burley & Woodhead making Ghyll Royd the winners of the School Sports Partnership Cricket League and Cricket Cup!
Massive congrats to our cricketers, and well done to all the teams in the Partnership. A further thanks to Peter Blackwell from Ilkley Grammar School who organises all the fixtures in the School Sports Partnership. Next up, we have our U11 mixed Rounders final on Friday afternoon!
