100% SATs Success!

Form 6 pupils at Ghyll Royd School are celebrating their fantastic SATs results, as they retain the school’s 100% pass rate for the fourth consecutive year.

The pupils passed all of their English, Maths and Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar tests by either reaching or exceeding the age-related expectations.

The national average for Writing, Reading and Maths in all schools in England this year is 61%, making Form 6’s achievement even more spectacular!

Ghyll Royd School are also delighted to officially be the top independent school for SATs success in the Wharfe Valley.

The children have been working hard all year in preparation for their May exams, and are also delighted to have all secured their place in their Secondary Schools of choice which include Ilkley Grammar School, Bradford Grammar School, St Mary’s Menston, Ermysteds Grammar School, Upper Wharfedale School and Woodhouse Grove School.

The national average for schools in England in all subjects has risen this year, with results showing that 71 per cent of pupils reached their expected standard in reading, a 5 per cent increase on 2016.

Form 6 teacher Mrs Sue Marshall said: “I am over the moon with the children’s results. My class have worked very hard leading up to their May exams and can now celebrate and be proud of their achievement, enjoy their summer break, and prepare for secondary school. We wish them the very best of luck in their new schools.”

The children will celebrate their results on Friday afternoon with a Pyjama disco thrown for the entire school to enjoy.
