Extracurricular Extravaganza!

Ghyll Royd is a hive of activity and our busy little bees are loving the clubs on offer this term. Our extracurricular clubs run throughout the week, offering a wide selection of sports, academic, holistic and creative activities.

Mindfulness has been very well received, particularly since returning to normal life post-lockdown. We have also seen an increase in children wanting ‘down time’ at home, so this year we launched a homework club.

Exciting new additions include gardening club and cycling through InGear Coaching! The clubs run at both lunchtimes and after school to support working parents and provide further opportunities for pupils.

Thursday Running Club has proven the most popular with 1/4 of the school signed up. The club is open to all and varies from competitive runners to children who want to try a new sport.

Closely followed in popularity is our Wednesday LEGO club where imaginations are free to run wild.

We now have two dance clubs, on Wednesday and Friday mornings, and for the artistic, we have lunchtime Art and after school Clay Time.

And for children who stay until 6.00pm, Mrs Portz makes sure there is fun and games from football to computing to board games each night.

There is something for everyone! To see a full club’s list, please email the school office.
