What a wonderful return to school we have had. It was an absolute joy to see all the children looking so smart in their uniforms. It was also great to see you, the parents, looking so happy.
Welcome back to all our returning pupils and a big hello to our new children in all the years! We are looking forward to the rest of the children joining us over the next two weeks after their return from holidays and for our youngest children to begin their settling in sessions. We start the year on our highest number of pupils for September in the school and in our Early Years classes, which is testament to the wonderful setting and a year of accolades, made possibly by our staff, families and facilities.
Form 1 and up are back eating in the school dining room and each bubble has its own dedicated outdoor area in the grounds for playtimes. Ghyll Royd even has its own mascot – a new fish which lives in Form 6’s classroom.
Families are enjoying the new and improved car park which was tarmacked over the Summer – providing a safe smooth pick up and drop off.
Thank you for all your support, especially over the last few months, and for working with the school in such a positive way. It is without doubt a most exciting time to be a Ghyll Royd pupil.
