Ilkley Nursery visits Tropical World

Children at an Ilkley Nursery went on a magnificent minibeast trip this week. Little Adventurers, Great Explorers and Reception from Ghyll Royd enjoyed a sunny trip out to Roundhay to visit Tropical World.

First of all, holding hands with their buddies, the children entered the hot and humid butterfly house. They were amazed by all the beautiful, colourful creatures who flying overhead. One even landed on Miss King!!

From there the children took a trip around the centre and saw crocodiles, fish, a sting ray, tortoises and, of course, the meerkats!

At the very end of the tour was the nocturnal room. It was very dark but the children loved learning about nocturnal animals. As a result of their interest in nocturnal animals, Great Explorers are going back to school to find out more about them.
The children had to make the most of the sunshine so before going back to school! They enjoyed a picnic and a visit to the playground before heading home. Thank you to staff for an enjoyable day out. We were delighted with the feedback from parents this morning about how much fun the children had!
