Once Upon a Time, Great Explorers and Reception took a magical trip to Abbey House Museum in Leeds to discover more about their favourite fairytales! When they arrived, the children played with the museum’s toys then wandered through the Abbey before eating their lunch in the Abbey House café!
In the afternoon, they met a lovely lady called Sarah who told them the story of Gerald the Gingerbread Man. Great Explorers and Reception had to dress up to disguise themselves, so the gingerbread man didn’t think they would eat him! He then came to say hello and had a picture with all the children.
The class went back to school with their jelly and gingerbread hats, and they all lived happily ever after! Thank you to Sarah from Abbey House Museum for a brilliant day out! Reception will be dressing up as fairytale characters for Children in Need on Friday. Great Explorers can dress up in either fairytale costumes or in pyjamas and bring a fairytale story in.
