During the latest Discovery Day, Key Stage One pupils learnt about the ways creatures change and grow. Children spent the full day focusing on the life cycle of the caterpillar through Music, Forest Schools, English and Computing.
In Science, pupils joined Reception for several activities. In one area the children painted their hands to make bright butterfly paintings. With Mrs Downes children molded caterpillars using Plasticine. The final activity incorporated everything they had learned to create diagrams of the caterpillars’ life cycle. In just one hour, the class learnt about how creatures can change and grow through exploring three different activities benefiting every type of learner.
