Soak up the Sun!

Rception, Form 1 and Form 2 compared the strengths and suitabilities of different materials in an outdoor science lesson.

From an own-brand tissue, to toilet paper, to kitchen towel, Reception and Form 1 tested how many drops it took for materials to reach their absorbency limit. The children worked in pairs, one child held the material and the other dipped their fingers in water to drip over the material.

Form 2 tested which material absorbed the fastest by submerging it in water. One child was in charge of holding the material and the other child timed it on the iPad.

All the children were really focused on the task and excited to share their results with the class!
