Ghyll Royd School’s U10 Swimming team are this year’s winners of the School Sports Partnership! The Partnership is a family of local primary schools who work together to enhance the quality of sporting opportunities for children, led by organisers at Ilkley Grammar School.
Ghyll Royd’s team, made up of Form 5 pupils and one Form 4 pupils defied the odds to climb from 8th place, last in the competition, to qualify for the swimming finals.
On Thursday 22nd March, Ghyll Royd went to Ilkley Grammar School’s pool to race against Burley Oaks and Burley Woodhead. The team worked really hard in their swims, cheering each other on from the sides and building team morale. There was just an arms length in it…Jemima’s arm to be exact, and Ghyll Royd won!
