This week, we’ve been speaking to several pupils about what they’ve been doing outside of school, and here are just a few we’d like to share.
Dance
Quentin in Form 4 has had a busy few weeks with his dancing! He passed his recent Tap and Modern exam with a Merit, with only a couple of points off a Distinction! He is now Grade 2 in Tap and Modern. Fantastic news!
Georgie in Form 3 was awarded Grade 1 Ballet with Distinction, Grade 1 Modern with Distinction and Grade 1 Tap with Merit in her Dance exams. Georgie has also won a scholarship to the Northern Dance Centre Summer School next year! A very big well done to Georgie!
Singing
Evie in Form 6 has won a place in the Children’s Chorus of Opera North. The Children’s Chorus provides boys and girls aged 8–13 from across the North of England with exciting opportunities to further their musical education and talent through the support of a professional opera company. Evie blew us all away with her gorgeous singing voice earlier this year when she played the Fairy Godmother in the KS2 production.
Piano
Bea in Form 5 has passed her Grade 2 Violin exam with a Merit. Daniel, also in Form 5, has passed his Grade 1 Piano exam. Daniel and Bea are both members of the KS2 Ensemble.
We can’t wait to hear more of your performances throughout the year at our regular assemblies and events! Well done!
