Wanted: Talented Artists!

Ghyll Royd pupils are being encouraged to enter an art competition for a local elderly care home.

Straven House Bupa Care Home are running a competition with the Ilkley Art Trail for local schoolchildren to design pictures or paintings to complement their dining room’s new decoration.

It is a lovely community project to get involved in, and there’s a prize for the winner, as well as the chance for your child’s work to be enjoyed by residents, staff and relatives of the residents at Straven House.

If your child would like to create a picture of any medium for the Care Home, please contact the School Office. The deadline for the artwork is the first week of August.

The competition is open to all pupils from Pre-School to Key Stage Two. Pupils can create anything they wish, perhaps something to make the residents smile, or something that is associated with Ilkley.

Miss Wilson will be in during the holidays to organise and send off any artwork submitted. Please contact the School Office for more information.
