Form 3 & 4 Art

Forms 3 and 4 are experimenting with clay in their Art lesson to create some fantastic pottery bobble heads.

Did you know Chef Sean is also a ceramicist? He kindly brought in his clay press to help Mrs Smith flatten and divide the clay for our Art lesson.

In the middle of the table was a box full of different shapes, objects and tools that we could use to decorate our clay.

Using a flower-shaped stamp, we could indent the clay to make our patterns unique.

Some of us used sea shells to make a ripple pattern in the clay.

Once we had finished making our designs, we had to very carefully wrap the clay around a cone to form the stand for the bobble head.

In our next few lessons we will be designing the Egyptian heads for the bobble head. Once they have been made and perfected, Mrs Smith will fire them up in a kiln ready to be painted.
