Form 1 and 2 Art

As part of the Key Stage One learning challenge, we are learning all about:

‘What is and where is our environment?’

We have been combining our learning of this topic through a range of subjects including geography, science, music and art.

We’ve explored homes of the past on our visit to Skipton Castle, we completed a road traffic survey next to the School, and walked around Burley to see the different people, buildings and businesses in our local area.

With Mrs Smith, we’ve been spending out Art lessons creating a colourful, miniature version of The Grove in Ilkley. Using coloured paper, crayons, colouring pencils, scissors and glue, we each chose a section of The Grove to work on.

Once completed, our shops, gardens and cars were added to the road Mrs Smith helped create.

The finished piece looks great and shows a colourful, bright and busy street which was created through listening, researching and teamwork. The artwork is currently on display in the Art room.
