Father Philip from St Margaret’s Church held an assembly on Wednesday morning to tell the story of Easter.
Pupils from all years gathered in the School hall to learn about the many stages of Easter, including the Last Supper, how Jesus died on the cross, and what happened when he was resurrected.
Father Philip used a red box to reveal each stage of the Easter story which, once complete, folded out to reveal a large cross.
To some children, Easter is more commonly associated with chocolate eggs, which Father Philip used to demonstrate the symbolisation of Easter and its meaning of new life.
Father Philip has a great rapport with the children and answered many eager pupils’ questions on Easter and Jesus.
