Gymnastics Pairing Secures Silver

Congratulations to Phoebe and Sienna who competed and gained a Silver Medal at the Ilkley Olicana Gymnastics Club Regional Acrobatics Competition, held at Ghyll Royd School and Pre-School. Phoebe and Sienna performed together as a pair performing a very tight accomplished routine in their category.

David Martin Headteacher commented that “Gymnastics contains the qualities we admire; strength, grace, courage, skill and excitement and we were delighted to hear of the girls awards. A huge thank you to Josette Cornish (Head Coach) and Olicana Gymnastics who have enriched the school’s physical education curriculum by teaching the children Gymnastics and Dance every Friday afternoon in the school hall.”

The aim of Olicana Gymnastics is to provide opportunities for children wishing to experience this thrilling and beautiful sport. For some it will be a stepping stone to competitive gymnastics but for most it will be a fun way to gain all-round fitness, the benefits of which will last long into adulthood. Olicana meet every Thursday to Saturday at Ghyll Royd School Sports Hall. If you would like your child to join in any of the classes please email the information below to info@olicanagymnastics.co.uk
