On Thursday 5th March for World Book Day children came to school dressed as their favourite book character. Each child was given a £1.00 book token that can be used in participating book shops. It was great to see the children so excited about the characters they came dressed as and it was a great opportunity to develop their Literacy and communication skills, as we looked at the books and discussed the characters that the children came as.
The children have participated in the BIG BOOK OFF CHALLENGE. Each class had create, imagine, explore, discover and experience challenge activities. Classes created a model story character, discovered a place through a new book, experienced the art of oral storytelling, explored illustrations and poetry and role played scenes from a book. Enjoy your reading today!
