What an adventurous week it was in the Early Years Department!
Welly Walk Wednesday was a glorious day and despite the boggy conditions we were determined to go and fly our kite!
All the children had a turn in flying the kite and they took great delight in watching it twist and turn in the sky. The children ‘oohhed’ and ‘ahhed’ as it soared higher and higher.
On Thursday we were overtaken by superheroes and princesses as the children dressed up for World Book Day. We talked about our favourite books and acted out some of the stories we enjoy to read. The day was full of fun and excitement and even the teachers joined in the fun and dressed up…Miss Coulton was a wonderful Eyore!
Friday was a day full of surprises as the snow came with a vengeance. It was like a winter wonderland when we arrived in school and the children were very excited and many of the mornings activities were snow based! At lunch time we dined out and took the whole Early Years Department to a local eating establishment for something to eat. It was a wonderful way to consolidate manners at the dinner table and we used it to promote developing the children’s social skills. We did all feel very posh indeed!
Role on the rest of the term!
