We are asking the children to raise funds for MNDA which has been selected by the School Council to support and in support of Mr John Tomkinson, Mrs T’s husband, who was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in October.
For our charity fundraising event this year children in Reception to Form 6 will taking part in a sponsored swim on Monday 19th and Thursday 22nd February 2024.
The sponsored swim will take place in the children’s normal swim lessons on Monday 19th and Thursday 22nd at Ilkley pool. In the lesson we will count how many widths (10 meters) or lengths (25 meters) the children can swim altogether in a 30-minute period with a target of 22 kilometers (22,000 meters) which is an average of 275 meters per child (11 lengths per child). The distance of 22 kilometers is the length from Ilkley Pool to the MND Care Centre clinic at Seacroft Hospital Leeds which John attends.
