Family Open Mornings

Friday 4th November and Saturday 5th November

Early Years Family Open Morning – Friday 4th November – 9.30am to 11.30am

Join our  Little Notes and Art Splash Stay  Sessions between between 9.30am and 11am plus an opportunity to view our wonderful Early Years department. For children from age 2, our Pre-School and Nursery provide a fantastic nurturing and stimulating environment for your little one.

Little Notes Music Session 9.30am to 10.00am

Run by our specialist Music teacher this 30 minute session will provide a range of, rhymes and songs for children and is a reflection of what the children attending our Pre-School would experience within a normal week.

Art Splash 10.00am to 10.30am

Run by our specialist Art teacher this 30 minute session will provide a range of messy art activities for children. A chance to get creative and have fun exploring with paints.

Family Open Morning – Saturday 5th November 9.00am – 12.00pm

Join our firework themed Family Open Morning for an opportunity to view the school and discover all that Ghyll Royd has to offer. During the morning we will be running a number of workshops which your children may participate in including an exclusive Micro:bit Coding Workshop run by Christine Harvey, Director of Computing Science at Bradford Grammar School .
Also running will be Art art and Music Workshops run by our specialist teachers. Children can make their own Guy, create firework paintings and learn about firework inspired Music. There will also be the opportunity to hear the school choir perform and some of our KS2 recorders.
The workshops have been tailored to suit differing age groups, which are as follow:
Aged 4-6
Art – 10am to 10.30am, Music – 11.15am to 12.00pm.
Age 7-9
Art – 9.30am to 10.30am, Music – 10.30am to 11.00am, Coding – 11.00am to 12.00pm
Aged 10-11
Music – 9.30am – 10.00am, Coding – 10.00am to 11.00am, Art – 11.00am to 12.00pm.

 

You will also be able to chat to staff and pupils to get a real understanding of the special place that is Ghyll Royd. Refreshments will also be served throughout the morning.
