The children are encouraged to explore their interests and develop their talents through music and the creative arts.

We have an exceptional music department and the children are taught the National Curriculum using the Music Express series and learn to play the recorder from Form 2. There are also many opportunities to perform in plays, musicals and services such as Harvest Festival and concerts. Productions include Hagbane’s Doom, Wind in the Willows, Jesus’ Christmas Party, Tinsel and Tea Towels, Rats and Treasure Island.

Our music teacher is supported by three outstanding peripatetic teachers for brass, guitar, drums, piano and singing.  Concerts take place during the year drawing out hidden talents in acting and solo singing as well as highlighting the musical achievements of all the children. The children can also be seen performing regularly at the Bandstand in Ilkley.
