At Ghyll Royd Pre-School and Nursery, we create a warm, welcoming, and stimulating environment where children aged 2–4 years can truly thrive. The Great Outdoors – Learning Beyond Walls
Located in the stunning grounds of Greystone Manor, our outdoor environment is truly something special. From meadow walks and woodland adventures to sports on our large field, children have daily opportunities to connect with nature and build resilience, creativity, and independence.
Whether they’re building dens, navigating nature trails, or learning around a campfire, our outdoor learning experiences are designed to develop essential life skills and spark a lasting love for the natural world.
A Bespoke, Play-Based Curriculum
Our curriculum is rooted in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework but brought to life through a personalised, play-based approach that honours each child’s interests and pace of development.
We carefully blend child-initiated exploration with adult-guided activities to support learning in core areas such as Phonics, Early Reading, Mark Making and Writing, and Numeracy. Through creative, theme-based topics, we also introduce children to the wonders of Science, Art, and Geography in ways that feel natural and engaging.
