Early Years Government Funding
Ghyll Royd School and Pre-School participates in the Government’s Early Years Education Entitlements programme, offering funded childcare places in line with national guidelines.
From the term after their second birthday, eligible children can access up to 30 hours per week for eligible working families and from the term after their third birthday, all children are entitled to 15 hours per week of Universal funding for non-working families
Funding is available during term time only (up to 38 weeks per year) or can be stretched over 50 weeks a year. The funding continues until the end of the term following your child’s fifth birthday.
The funded hours are provided free of charge, in accordance with government regulations. However, supplementary charges apply for services and activities not covered by the funding, such as meals, snacks, consumables (nappies, wipes, suncream, etc), extended care, and extra-curricular activities
Early Education Funding (EFF)
When accessing funded hours, the following charges are available:
- Chargeable Hourly Rate: Please email Finance@ghyllroydschool.co.uk
- Freshly Cooked Lunch £4.00
- Curriculum Enhancements (3hrs) £11.85 (inclusive of lunch)
- Curriculum Enhancements (6hrs) £23.70 (inclusive of lunch)
Wrap Around Care (optional): Before and After School
Breakfast Club: 7.30am-8.30am
After School Club: 3.30pm-6.00pm
Except:
- Two weeks over Christmas
- Bank Holidays
Optional Charges for Government Funded Hours
CHAREABLE HOURS: Hourly rate for additional hours you wish you child to attend Ghyll Royd Nursery, each week.
LUNCH: Cost of your children to be provided with a freshly cooked meal. Those parents that wish to opt out, must follow the Nursery’s ‘Packed Lunch Policy’.
CURRICULUM ENHANCEMENTS: Cost of consumables, wonderful additional experiences and services that Ghyll Royd provides your child with, whilst they are accessing their government funded hours. These curriculum enhancements are what makes Ghyll Royd extra special.
The charge covers (but not limited to):
- Qualified teachers in Early Years
- Lessons with specialist teachers (Art, Music, PE and Outdoor Learning)
- Enrichment activities of Celebration Events (Christmas, Easter, Chinese New Year, Diwali, Eid etc…)
- Family Stay and Play events (Easter and Christmas crafts, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Sports Day events etc…)
- Educational visits out of the school gates
- Use of the minibus
- Access to our Tapestry app
- Ingredients for baking or making playdough
- Wipes and other consumables
- Plus, all those extras that make Ghyll Royd Pre-School so special
The curriculum enhancements charge is only applicable for funded hours sessions and is a 3 hour or 6 hour charge, depending on the number of funded hours being accessed on the day.
