Early Years Government Funding

Ghyll Royd School and Pre-School participates in the Government’s Early Years Education Entitlements programme, offering funded childcare places in line with national guidelines.

From the term after their second birthday, eligible children can access up to 30 hours per week for eligible working families and from the term after their third birthday, all children are entitled to 15 hours per week of Universal funding for non-working families

Funding is available during term time only (up to 38 weeks per year) or can be stretched over 50 weeks a year.  The funding continues until the end of the term following your child’s fifth birthday.

The funded hours are provided free of charge, in accordance with government regulations. However, supplementary charges apply for services and activities not covered by the funding, such as meals, snacks, consumables (nappies, wipes, suncream, etc), extended care, and extra-curricular activities
