Ghyll Royd School offers scholarships to girls and boys who are looking to join Ghyll Royd from other schools in the area. Scholarships are offered to children who we feel will benefit from the education we offer and our individualised approach. 

This year we are inviting children aged  7 – 9 years to sit our entrance examination which consists of an English paper, a maths paper and a non verbal reasoning paper. Those who perform particularly well and who we feel will be happy with us, may be offered a subsidised place at Ghyll Royd.

Our scholarship day is held in March each year, the date for 2012 will be released shortly.

The best way to experience all that Ghyll Royd has to offer is to visit us. We have two Open Days a year, one in March and one in October but we welcome visitors at any point during the year.

Our Open Days are an excellent opportunity for parents to view the school and to meet staff and pupils. You are welcome to tour the school at your leisure or a member of staff or pupil will happily accompany you.

However, parents of younger children who are also interested in a subsidised place may contact the school with a view to them joining us for a more informal assessment taster day.

Subsidised places may be offered up to a reduction of 50% depending on the child’s performance on the day, their previous school reports and the impression staff have gained from the day the children have spent with us.
