Headteacher’s Blog – 20th April
The start of the new summer term and all the Ghyll Royd pupils look very smart in their blazers, I must say. The girls look particularly great in their new summer dresses – all we need now is some summer sunshine!
This week, the Swimathon went well and in total, the children swam 23.7 miles averaging 29 lengths per child (725 metres). We are all very proud of the distances the children swam and how they kept swimming for such a long time. Thanks to Mr Martin for coordinating such a super event and to all of you who kindly sponsored one of more children. The total amount of money raised will be confirmed next week. In Pre-School the new ballet lessons started this week and all who attended the Fairy-tale Party on Friday had a fabulous time.
Next week sees the start of our extra-curricular clubs, now we are including a new dance club for boys and girls. We are also starting our new School Council initiative during playtimes called ‘Craze of the Week!’ Your children will tell you more about this if you ask them.
