Each year boys aged 7 to 10 are invited to sit our entrance examination which consists of an English paper, a maths paper and a non verbal reasoning paper. Boys who perform particularly well and who we feel will be happy with us, may be offered a subsidised place at Ghyll Royd.

Scholarship places offered will depend on the results of the exam, the child’s last report and the impression staff have gained from the day the boys have spent with us.

If a candidate shows exceptional performance in all examinations they may receive up to a 75% scholarship, the family will be expected to pay a minimum of 25% of each terms fees and to pay for lunch, milk, trips and individual musical tuition.
