At Ghyll Royd the boys are encouraged to explore their interests and develop their talents through the creative arts. We have a very strong music department and the boys cover all elements of the music National Curriculum including composition and performance.
Our dynamic music teacher is supported by a number of peripatetic teachers, and boys have the opportunity to develop their talents with additional singing, brass, recorder and piano lessons.
Concerts take place during the year and all the boys in school take a full and active part in their key stage performances. Ghyll Royd productions are always of a very high standard and are very successful drawing out the talents of hidden thespians whilst highlighting the musical abilities of boys of all ages.

Staff work hard to make the school a colourful and stimulating environment for the boys to learn and displays are used to recognise and celebrate the boys work and achievements. Art and CDT play an important part in the themed topics covered in the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 and the more senior boys enjoy specialist teaching.
The creative arts are further enhanced through the extra curricular programme we offer and boys can enjoy a variety of music, drama and art activities.
